Contractor was inspired to pursue acting more seriously at age of 16, after ten year of dance. As soon as she finished her high school education, she was awarded an all-inclusive scholarship to the University of Toronto. At the University of Toronto she completed an MA in Theatre, and she also double-majored in Psychology and Sociology. Contractor was a participant in the highly acclaimed Stratford Shakespeare Festival in Ontario, Canada, for Pericles. After one full year, she was given the lead part. After 92 performances, she received positive reviews. This play was named the top production by Canadian reviewers. Contractor accepted the invitation to take part in Stratford's Conservatory course. There are only eight males and four females are admitted for a 20-week intensive course in classical theater. The actor's involvement in the upcoming play-season was confirmed and she received the role of Hermia in A Midsummer Night's Dream.
